  like parasites, they took from me and didn't give back'.

  isabella dutton would have been happier not having children.

  This woman is unbelievable. She coldly and publicly says her children were a mistake (a statement that I'm sure did wonders for her children's emotional well-being), and then condemns others for having only one child.

  I have one grown-up son. If I were given a choice, I would raise him all over again. No lack of parental love in my house. Yet she has the gall to call someone like me selfish.

  Disgusting story. I hope her children return her "affection" when she gets old and sick and needs help.

  i just started reading "a.d. - after disclosure" by richard dolan.

  it is an attempt to rationally predict what will ( or would, depending on your viewpoint) happen when authorities around the world admit that extraterrestrials exist and first contact happens.. will markets crash?

  will religions collapse?

  " Meyer argues that the origin of this information, as well as other mysterious features of the Cambrian event, are best explained by intelligent design, rather than purely undirected evolutionary processes."

  It's the old god-in-the-cracks argument. If science can't explain something, then instead of maintaining an open mind, believers say that the unaccountable must be evidence of God or some other supernatural entity.

  It's getting hard for "God" to peek through those narrowing cracks. But "he" keeps on trying anyway.

  Have you considered the possibility that the government was driven to put up that sign to keep the nut jobs out? A simple keep-out sign was probably too subtle for them.

  It's similar to the reason people put up "vicious dog" signs on their property even if they don't have a dog. It's to keep out those who insist on trying to get in, like the dubs.

  I saw a bunch of UFOs many years ago. I was driving at night and saw a series of bright red lights streak across the sky. This happened continuously for the next half hour. I couldn't imagine what they could be.

  Found out the next day that the nearby airbase was doing night exercises with live ammo. What I saw was tracer fire.

  Just 'cause you can't explain it doesn't mean it has to be aliens.

  i've been a lurker here and an inactive jw for a number of years.

  i've always had some annoying doubts but brushed it aside but over the last few years i've had time to "think" away from the wt.

  perhaps there is no paradise, maybe no god and this life is all there is.

  i have never been a jw, but i have lived literally surrounded by them since i married my wife, almost 20 years ago.

  since i never raised a fuss before, i guess i was also brain-washed into thnking that their religion was harmless and the leaders were well intended.. i have been reading your comments for many months and have come to realize how harmful the religion is.

  your comments have been mostly about the pain inflicted by shunning, deception in the literature, and the views on higher education.

  Back in the 1970s I knew a woman in my congregation who refused an Rh factor injection (RhoGam), which is derived from blood. At that time, the WTS policy regarding medications derived from blood was "let your conscience be your guide," which meant it was NOT a disfellowshipping offence to have this injection.

  I also needed that Rh injection, and I accepted it. The "sister" who refused practically spat at me that it was the same as taking blood. The purpose of the injection was to prevent the possibility of having children with mental and physical problems due to the Rh factor.

  I went on to have a child who was normal in every way. She also had a baby, a daughter. The child was permanently mentally retarded.

  The tragedy of the WTS's ever-shifting policies regarding blood transfusions and blood products is not always death.

  Sometimes it's worse than death.

  i just watched this amazing and beautifully filmed documentary about a crazy, crazy man who lived with alaskan brown bears and ultimately was killed by them.

  this film is really interesting.

  the guy it's about is nuttier than squirrel poop.

  If you keep messing around with large wild animals, they will eventually kill you, and no amount of charisma or sincerity or whatever will save you.

  Bears, crocodiles, and stingrays don't give a rat's ass about those things.
